Collection: By Eleanor

By Eleanor is a collection created by my 8 year old artist, leader & entrepreneur in the making. Life lessons include: social justice education & advocacy, design, budgeting, marketing, product photography, patience, persistence... and serious JOY!

The Story

In the depths of Spring Quarantine, my (then) 7 year old daughter presented me with a drawing she'd made just for me. In colorful letters it proclaimed, "Strong and Smart Like Mom". I choked back tears; as you can imagine it was exactly what I needed to hear! I shared it with my community and they loved it too.

A few months later she made a protest sign for a series of of Black Lives Matter demonstrations we attended, this time proclaiming, "Racism Ends With Me".

When I told her she got requests for t-shirts or stickers of both designs, she asked if she could make & sell them. She suggested setting up in our driveway, the usual location of her many entrepreneurial adventures (which have included popcorn, bracelets, lemonade, and found object sculptures  ). "Or..." she said, as her eyes lit up with excitement, "I could have a shop on the computer, just like you".

And that's how By Eleanor was born.
