Kintsukuroi (“to repair with gold”) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using lacquer laced with gold or silver, understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken. I handlettered this piece to honor those broken parts of us, to remind us that it is in our brokenness that we find our wholeness.
