Artwork created to honor the beautiful Sheree Spaulding, made to wear for her wonderful sister Stephanie Erin Bail.
This dragonfly was created as a little gift during what would be Sheree's last days (among a bunch of other dragonflies). It struck a chord with Stephanie so she asked me to make it into a shirt, sweatshirt and stickers.
Dragonflies were an important symbol to her - we’d send them to each other as a reminder of our friendship, strength of spirit, and connection to the universe. A reminder to trust that we are loved and held, and are changing/transforming exactly as we should. A reminder that we can adapt to our environment, live in the moment, embrace life as the gift that it is!
As she was (is!) to so many of us, Sheree is so important to me. We met through on online course we were both taking in 2016. She found me on a class roster and thought we'd enjoy talking/collaborating, so she reached out. We hit it off hard - we’d spend hours on the phone talking about everything - our businesses, our lives, our dreams, our ideas. Over time we set up a mini-mastermind for ourselves. We met weekly for over a year... sharing dreams, brainstorming ideas, challenging and holding each other accountable. Sheree was smart, beautiful, humble, interesting, funny, and bursting with HEART. She faced cancer with the kind of grace & humor reserved for the heroine of a novel that would obviously end up beating it. And maybe in some ways, she did. She packed more life into the last 3 years than most people do into their whole lives, right? She will always serve as an inspiration to everyone and anyone who was lucky enough to know her.
She is with us. I am so grateful to be able to offer something that will help us hold her memory in a special way. I am so sorry for your loss and I hope that it brings you even a bit of comfort.
